Partnership with Kumanoya: Heliatek Enters the Japanese Market

Dresden, 09th of December 2024

With the support of our new partner Kumanoya, Heliatek has successfully entered the Japanese market. The Japan-based company brings many years of experience in sustainable technologies and will support Heliatek in market entry, local distribution, and customer support on site.

A strong symbol of this commitment is the first joint installation: A HeliaSol® system has been installed on Kumanoya’s warehouse, serving as a visible statement of our partnership and a shared commitment to the energy transition through organic photovoltaics.

The partnership with Kumanoya is a key part of our expansion strategy in Asia. Especially in a market like Japan – known for innovation and high design standards – there are numerous application opportunities for our ultra-lightweight, flexible, and low-carbon solar solutions, particularly on existing buildings, temporary structures, and architectural facades.

“With Kumanoya, we have found a partner who shares our vision and is deeply rooted in the Japanese market,” says Spyridon Christaras, Head of Business Development at Heliatek. “The installation on the warehouse is just the beginning – together, we aim to establish organic solar technology in Japan.”

Further projects in the region are already in planning. The strong interest shown at PV Expo Tokyo, where we exhibited jointly with Kumanoya, confirmed that organic photovoltaics are generating significant interest in Japan.
