Heliatek deploys with Kandil Steel its first large BIOPV project on African continent


Dresden, Germany - 23 June 2016 - Heliatek has implemented, with its partner Kandil Steel, its first Building integrated Organic Photovoltaic (BIOPV) pilot project in Africa. HeliaFilm®, Heliatek’s organic solar film, is at the core of this installation in Egypt, which represents a first test project for further steel applications by Kandil Steel.

Heliatek is part of a new European Funded-Project for the development of Power generating Façade Elements for Next Generation Buildings


The joint project “PVme – organic PhotoVoltaic systems integrated in Manufactured building Elements” started at the beginning of 2016. Heliatek is part of this project, taking the integration of its organic solar films to the next level. The German sub-project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi), as part of the network of European funding organizations. The consortium consists of ten international companies and research institutes, which cover the whole supply chain.

Heliatek wins GreenTec “Production” Award


Dresden, Germany – 28 April 2016 -- Heliatek has won the GreenTec Award in the “Production” category. The Dresden- and Ulm-based technology company won the award for its innovative, vacuum roll-to-roll production process used to manufacture HeliaFilm®, an organic solar film applied mainly on building façades.

Heliatek and SVK Win Prize for Best New Product at LOPEC 2016


Dresden, Germany – 21th April 2016 – Heliatek and SVK are proud to announce that they won the “Best New Product” category at the 2016 OE-A competition. With this award, the Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A) recognizes innovative concepts and products illustrating the various possibilities for the application of organic and printed electronics. The products and demonstrators were showcased at the LOPEC, the international trade fair and conference for printed electronics, in Munich, Germany.

Heliatek sets new Organic Photovoltaic world record efficiency of 13.2%


Dresden, Germany - 8 February 2016 - Heliatek R&D teams reached a record conversion efficiency of 13.2% for an OPV multi-junction cell, setting a new world record for the direct conversion of sunlight into electricity using organic photovoltaic cells. The measurement was independently confirmed by Fraunhofer CSP.
