Heliatek’s core technology recognized as 2011 Best Innovation

German President Christian Wulff presented the 2011 Deutscher Zukunftspreis (German Prize for Innovation and Technology) to Prof. Karl Leo (TU Dresden/co-founder of Heliatek), Dr. Martin Pfeiffer (CTO and co-founder of Heliatek), and Dr. Jan Blochwitz-Nimoth (Novaled AG) for their outstanding innovation, “Organic electronics – More light and energy from wafer thin molecule layers” on December 14. The President’s Award for Technology and Innovation honors innovative and economically promising research developments.

Heliatek and the Institute for Applied Photophysics at TU Dresden win the Chemnitz Technology Transfer Award, wissen.schafft.arbeit

Heliatek GmbH and the Institute for Applied Photophysics of TU Dresden were honored yesterday evening at “pumpwerk eins” in Chemnitz with the Technology Transfer Award, wissen.schafft.arbeit. This is the fourth time TU Chemnitz has awarded the prize.

Heliatek GmbH, technology leader of organic solar modules, is named for the third time in a row in the prestigious 2011 Global Cleantech 100 list. The Global Cleantech 100 list recognizes the top private companies worldwide in the Clean Technology Industry and is produced by Cleantech Group, a leading research firm focused on global cleantech innovation, in collaboration with the UK’s Guardian News and Media.

Leadership change at Heliatek

Dresden, Germany, August 31, 2011 – Under the leadership of Dr. Andreas Rückemann, Heliatek GmbH successfully went from a university spin-off focused on research and development to an influential operating company in organic solar cell technology in just three short years. A successful round of financing in 2009 made it possible to build the first production facility for this innovative technology at a new industrial site in Dresden. To date, a total of 70 jobs have been created. The course has been set for further growth, an outstanding team and a clear structure have been put together, and a consortium of leading venture capitalists has been established.
